Testing out my Wolf River Coils Silver Bullet 1000 on 20 meters with the Yaesu FT-891. This is a great setup that I can’t recommend enough!

I created a little battery box over the weekend, below is a list of parts I used to make it.

My impressions over the first week with the Yaesu FT-891.

I decided to build a dedicated HF kit for portable, I ended up going with a Yaesu FT-891 transceiver. The receive audio is outstanding, but on this day I was struggling to get out with the antenna/propagation setup I had. So far I really like this radio.

Testing out a new battery and shunt for portable ham radio with my Yaesu FT-991. The longest DX contact was New Zealand for the day.
